Meet GYC's 2018-19 Executive Board

Tytianna "Ty" Horn, GYC Chair

Tytianna, a senior at the Middle College at Bennett, is serving as the 2018-19 GYC Chair. She previously served as the Records Director. Her responsibilities include supervising the Executive Board, overseeing all GYC projects, and serving as office manager. Ty also volunteers at the Greensboro Science Center. She is a member of Sisters in Science, the Robotics Club and All Beautiful. In her free time she envoys drawing, reading, and watching Netflix.

Tamia Rogers, Internal Affairs Director

Tamia, a senior at the Middle College at Bennett will serve as the Internal Affairs Director. In her role, Tamia will assist in managing GYC social media platforms, ensure the recognition of volunteers, and oversee project evaluations. When not busy with school work or volunteering she plays video games and enjoys animation and video editing.

Denise Renteria, Recruiting Director

Denise is a senior at the Middle College at Bennett and is this year's Recruiting Director. Her position allows her to use creativity to find new ways to increase membership. Denise has a passion for community service. When not volunteering, she enjoys playing with her dogs, baking, and eating.

Kelis Johnson, Records Director

Kelis is a junior at GTCC Middle College in Jamestown and is serving as this year's Records Director. Her job is to record minutes at all meetings, keep track of all GYC members' volunteer hours and issue incentives. She is an active volunteer with the Greensboro Children's Museum, Hospice, and the Servant Leader Center. Kelis also participates in the Young Achievers program, Youth Leadership Greensboro, and serves as the Executive Director of her nonprofit, All Beautiful. Her hobbies include reading, baking, and listening to music.

Brooks Mullikin, Training Director

This year's Training Director is Brooks Mullikin, a senior at Grimsley High School. In his position, Brooks plans interactive trainings for the GYC Institute and energizers for meetings. He also volunteers at the Greensboro Science Center and with the I Can Bike program. Brooks enjoys saltwater fishing and boxing. 

Damion Williams, Sponsorship Director

Damion is a senior at the STEM Early College and NC A&T State University. This is his first year in GYC. The duties of his position include building relationships with potential sponsors and researching grants to support GYC and its programs. Damion also volunteer with Handy Capable Network and the I Can Bike program. When not working or volunteering he enjoys reading, skating, and gaming.

Sierra Meighan, Executive Board Mentor

Sierra Meighan is a junior at Southwest High School and has been a member of GYC for two years. In her role as Executive Board mentor, Sierra works closely with the advisors to provide skills development training for the board members and assist them with problem solving using her GYC experience. She is a member of several clubs at her school including Campus Life and The Battle of the Books. Sierra's hobbies include listening to music, playing instruments, and reading.
