Fishing Program: Higgins Tournament

COVID-19 Related Fishing Changes

Lake offices are closed to the public. Staff will be on site to monitor capacity and ensure water safety.

Fishing is permitted but pier usage is limited to no more than 10 users at a time. There will be no bait sales or boat rentals. Private boat launch at lakes is permitted. No launch fee is required.

No bank fishing is allowed. Boat ramps are available for private boat launches. Customers may bring their own electric trolling motors or gas powered motors (less than 10 hp) for use on the rental rowboats.

Fish found in the lakes: largemouth bass, black and white crappie, channel catfish, brown and yellow bullhead, yellow perch, chain pickerel, bluegill, redbreast sunfish, pumpkinseed, warmouth, red ear/shellcracker, threadfin and gizzard shad. Bodie bass (hybrid) and striped bass can be found in Lake Townsend.

Saturday, April 25

6 am Gates Open
7 am Tournament start
3 pm Weigh-in

1 or 2 person teams. 5 fish limit. $25 per person. Optional Big Fish side-pot for $10 per person. Trophies and cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Register at Lake Townsend.
