Greensboro's only outdoor adventure week for teens 12-15. This program, run by Parks and Recreation environmental education staff, is for teens who are ready to test their limits with sailing, kayaking, hiking, survival activities, and climbing at Lake Higgins and other natural areas throughout the Triad. Teens will also get hands-on experiences with wild animals working side-by-side with professional animal keepers.

  • Registration begins March 1 
  • Cost: $250 includes transportation and admission to all field trip locations
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm
  • Location: Lake Higgins, 4235 Hamburg Mill Rd., Summerfield
  • Session 1 June 24 - 28
  • Session 2 July 22 - 26

Morning - Hike Bald Eagle Trail; Free swim
Afternoon - Ropes course at Lake Brandt

Tuesday
Morning - Learn to row at Lake Brandt; Animal interactions on Eco Bus
Afternoon - Kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding; Scavenger hunt

Wednesday
Morning - Behind-the-scenes tour at Carolina Tiger Rescue 
Afternoon - Learn archery at Hester Park

Thursday
Morning - Fishing; Survival skills session; Orienteering
Afternoon - Rock climbing at Tumblebees; Field games

Friday
All day - Field trip to explore Hanging Rock State Park
