Kids in Parks is an expanding network of family friendly outdoor adventures called TRACK Trails. Each TRACK Trail features self-guided brochures and signs that turn your visit into a fun and exciting outdoor experience. Best of all, you can earn prizes for tracking your adventures. In addition to getting prizes in the mail, you can track your adventures in your own online nature journal and see how many trails you have visited, how many miles you have hiked, and more. Visit the TRACK Trails website for details.
The Lake Daniel Park TRACK Trail follows the Lake Daniel Greenway from the parking area on Mimosa Drive to N. Mendenhall Street and back. This easy one-mile round-trip hike features views of the creek and offers a close-up look at the diverse wildlife that can be found in the park. The self-led brochures featured at this site are: Birds of the Piedmont, Bug Out, Nature’s Hide and Seek, and the Need for Trees
The 80-acre Lake Daniel Park features a playground, tennis courts, restrooms, a walking path, and picnic areas. From this park, the Lake Daniel Greenway continues to the east and west, connecting walkers, joggers, and bikers to surrounding community parks. Look for the map below to start your adventure!
