1095-C Status Update
The 1095-C forms will be distributed no later than the IRS extension deadline of April 2, 2026.
Please note that employees are not required by the IRS to have the 1095-C form in hand in order to file their income taxes. While your personal accountant may request the form, it does not prevent you from filing your 2025 taxes.
The 1095-C forms will be mailed directly to your home address.
Where Retirees Can Find 2025 Monthly Insurance Premium Amount for Tax Purposes?
2/3/26 - Retirees can find their 2025 monthly premium amount for City benefits by reviewing their monthly pension remittance statement or their 2025 City Open Enrollment retiree letter, which shows the monthly cost of coverage for the year.
If you are enrolled in City benefits but did not receive a retiree Open Enrollment letter, please contact the Benefits Consultant assigned by last name for help.
Please note: Insurance premiums taken out of pension checks are not shown on the 1099 issued by the North Carolina Retirement System. This is normal and does not mean your premium was not deducted
Attention Pre-65 Retirees Enrolled in City's Health Insurance:
Pre-65 Retirees who are enrolled in the City's health insurance and were previously approved for weight loss medications (including GLP-1s) must enroll in the Real Appeal Rx program (which is separate from the standard Real Appeal program) in 2026. If you have not enrolled, you can do so on this website link. See the Real Appeal RX FAQs and the Real Appeal RX flyer for more details.
New ORBIT Login Experience Coming February 1
Effective February 1, the ORBIT member portal for the North Carolina Retirement System will launch a streamlined, single sign-on login powered by ID.me. Watch the “What is ID.ME?” video on YouTube for more information.
If NC Retirement System members have any questions they are encouraged to visit www.myncretirement.gov for more information and helpful FAQs. They can also contact the NC Retirement System at 919-814-4590.
All questions about unlocking Employee/Retiree ORBIT accounts should be referred to ID.me. Some issues may also need to be directed to the Member Services Call Center. Employer Reporting is no longer involved and cannot assist with expediting the unlocking of Employee/Retiree ORBIT accounts.
