We honor the lives and service of City of Greensboro retirees who have passed away. Out of respect for privacy, we will only share information about a retiree’s death if a surviving family member contacts our Benefits Division and provides expressed permission to publish the announcement.

In Memory of John "Buzzy" Gribble - January 23, 2026. It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the passing of our friend and colleague, John “Buzzy” Gribble. John passed away Friday night at 10:25 PM. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, February 6, at Main Street Methodist Church, 306 S Main St., Kernersville. A reception will follow the service.
