The New Garden Road Strategic Plan was adopted on September 17 by City Council.

Background

In early 2018, City Council directed City staff to create a plan for a section of the New Garden Road corridor from W. Friendly Avenue to Battleground Avenue to identify and address concerns about the impacts of future growth on surrounding neighborhoods. This area has seen an increased rate of change and development pressures.

The City hired Teska Associates to aid in the analysis of the corridor. Initial data collection was conducted in May.

On July 12, at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Library, Teska Associates along with Planning Department staff hosted an open house. At that event, maps of the area were presented and public input was solicited.
