This and other City plans follow our comprehensive plan, GSO2040See how this South Greensboro Plan uses the following topics and exercises during public workshops and events to help everyone learn more and engage with each other. 

1. Vision: To introduce this planning process and why you are encouraged to engage in it, we are using visioning exercises to establish goals, existing and future assets, areas of change, and create opportunities to cultivate a more equitable and desired future for the area.

GSO2040Cover2. Great Places: This assets and opportunities exercise includes areas to enhance or grow, as well as areas that are under-appreciated or under-utilized.

3. Mobility & Connectivity: A lay of the land exercise, this allows you to identify key connections and mobility options throughout the study area, as well as challenges to connectivity and mobility.

4. Environment & Economics: This event includes visioning around businesses, jobs and economic opportunities and challenges, as well as environmental characteristics of the area. Possible topics are flooding and air quality as well as access to green space and preserving
existing or visioning new public open spaces and parks.

5. Culture & Authenticity: This activity gathers critical insight on spaces, places, histories and people of the study area that form the cultural fabric, as well as envisioning ways to honor, protect and grow the culture of communities in South Greensboro.
