GPD responds to COVID-19

Effective Thursday, March 26, Greensboro Police Department Headquarters (GPD HQ) will close to normal walk in traffic.  Our sub-stations at Maple St. and Swing Rd. will remain closed to walk-in traffic.  Citizens needing services related to tow-ins or reports, will be allowed to enter GPD HQ after being screened at the door by Watch Operations Personnel.

Public finger printing and evidence pick-up will continue to be suspended until further notice.

Our Watch Operations Center will continue to operate 24 hours a day; 7 days a week for citizen tow-in, citizen reporting a crime, etc.

ALL GPD Community Engagement Events including the Community Meetings with Chief James have been cancelled until further notice. ALL Citizen Ride-alongs have been cancelled until further notice

This DOES NOT impact our call responses to emergency situations.

We remain committed to provide essential services to the citizens of Greensboro as we work through this difficult situation and we will keep the community updated as this situation evolves.

Thank you for your partnership in keeping Greensboro safe.
