GPD Response to COVID-19

GPD responds to COVID-19

Effective Thursday, March 26, Greensboro Police Department Headquarters (GPD HQ) will close to normal walk in traffic. Our sub-stations at Maple St. and Swing Rd. will remain closed to walk-in traffic. Residents needing services related to tow-ins or reports, will be allowed to enter GPD HQ after being screened at the door by Watch Operations Personnel.

Evidence pick-up will continue to be suspended until further notice.

Our Watch Operations Center will continue to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week for resident tow-in, residents reporting a crime, etc.

All GPD Community Engagement events including the Community Meetings with Chief James have been canceled until further notice. ALL Citizen Ride-alongs have been canceled until further notice

This DOES NOT impact our call responses to emergency situations.

We remain committed to provide essential services to the residents of Greensboro as we work through this difficult situation and we will keep the community updated as this situation evolves.

Thank you for your partnership in keeping Greensboro safe.

Beginning Friday, April 17, the City of Greensboro will follow the State’s Stay-at-Home Order. What does that mean? It simply means continue to Stay-at-Home. We need everyone to continue to stay home when you don't need to be out. When you #StayHome, you are protecting yourself, your family, and your neighbors.

Here are several COVID-19 helpful links to keep you in the know!
