Wayne Scott Nov. 2016From Police Chief Wayne Scott

Welcome to the official website of the Greensboro Police Department. Members of GPD are committed to making Greensboro safer and improving quality of life for everyone who works, lives and visits the Gate City.

We see you as equal partners in public safety. And any good partnership, of course, requires timely and effective communication. We hope you use our website and social media sites to enhance communication and create long-term partnerships to solve problems, reduce crime and improve quality of life.

By clicking on "Our Communities," you can find your  neighborhood link and learn about your patrol division's

commander and Community Resource Officers. Each page contains ways to contact the officers serving your area.

The "I Want To" link connects you to information on more than a dozen services, including fingerprinting, retrieving a towed vehicle, and getting a child safety seat inspected. Some services, such as registering a bicycle and requesting a police officer to speak at an event, can be done online.

If you are interested in the rules governing our people and operations, take a look at our Departmental Directives.

We will continue to add new content to this site to keep it relevant and increase service to you, so visit us frequently. Save www.gsopd.org to your favorites. "Like" us on Facebook. Send us a Tweet. Sign up for Nextdoor.

Greensboro Police Foundation

Mission: A Safe City that is Good for Business, Good for People, and Good for Life

As today's policing becomes more difficult and challenging, and the demand for the City's resources increases in many areas, some of the most important needs of the Greensboro Police Department are beyond the scope of the City's budget.

The Greensboro Police Foundation can provide funding so officers can have the best training and equipment possible in order to provide the highest level of service to its residents. The Greensboro Police Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization.
