Speaker Request Guidelines

The Greensboro Police Department receives hundreds of requests annually to speak with community groups on safety and security. While the department values this opportunity, it does limit its participation to events that contribute directly or indirectly to the safety and welfare of residents. Because of limited resources, officers will not be scheduled to present to groups of less than 10 people (exceptions: residential and commercial security surveys where the officer may contact one or two individuals). Also, due to manpower limitations, we may not be able to accommodate all requested dates.

  • All speaker requests must be made at least 30 days in advance.
  • Please submit a new request form for each speaker request or service request.
  • The event shall be open to the public and free of charge, not be political in nature, and meet the ethical guidelines set forth by the Greensboro Police Department.
  • All requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. If special police operations are set after your event is scheduled, it may require cancellation of police participation.
  • Police personnel are not available for grand openings, birthday parties, daycares, or business special events.
  • No events may be scheduled on holidays. Events scheduled on weekends may be limited.
