Operation Yuletide is an initiative by members of the Greensboro Police Department (GPD) to bring some holiday cheer to good people who are experiencing tough times.
Throughout the year, GPD employees meet people who have been impacted by serious crimes, accidents, or an unlucky turn of events. And each year those employees organize to provide gifts of new clothing, toys, and household items to at least 100 families nominated by the police department. These are people GPD has come in contact with over the year and been touched by their circumstances.
Fill the Cruiser Events
“Although this program is a GPD initiative, it is an event involving the entire city that benefits so many people.
This event brings out the best in our partners, and reinforces why Greensboro is such a great place to live,” said Chief of Police Wayne Scott.
Participate in Fill the Cruiser Events
You can be part of Operation Yuletide by donating cleaning supplies, toys, school supplies, personal
hygiene items, and household goods at any of our “Fill the Cruiser” events above. GPD employees will be outside of these shopping centers asking residents to donate a little something to help our local families in need. GPD will then match your generous contribution to the needs of the families, gift wrap the gifts, and deliver them to the families.
