Home MenuConstruction & Demolition Debris
Solid waste crews will collect small amounts of construction waste from DIY home improvement projects. Construction debris consists of lumber, bricks, cement, drywall, flooring, sheetrock, tiles, wallboard, etc.
If you have construction waste, place it in up to two 32-gallon, personal containers. These containers will only be collected on the same day as your recycling and bulk-item collection day, not on your weekly trash collection day. The 32-gallon containers must have attached handles, a detachable lid (attached lids are not allowed), and may not exceed 50 pounds when loaded.
*Please do not place construction waste in your green trash cart. Construction waste can damage both your city-issued trash cart and the garbage trucks during collection.
Bags, boxes, and wheelbarrows will not be collected. Debris from jobs performed by professional contractors will not be collected.
Land-clearing debris such as dirt, gravel, rocks, sand and soil is not considered construction waste.
If your remodeling project involves a large item, such as tearing down a shed, you may request a solid waste supervisor to inspect the material for possible collection for a fee. Call the Contact Center at 373-CITY (2489) to request a review.
Residents can also bring their construction debris directly to the White Street Landfill or the Transfer Station for disposal.
