Ridership Concept

Enlarge mapWhen designing for more ridership, we get:

  • Faster access to jobs and opportunities for more people leading to more ridership. But not everyone or every place can be reached.
  • Help with mitigation of pollution and congestion emissions.
  • More revenue from fares, to afford more service.

In a Nutshell

The Ridership Concept includes:

  • Frequent service every 15 minutes on nine major corridors across the city, compared to no 15-minute service in the current system.
  • New service every 30 minutes on three major corridors.
  • Service every 60 minutes on Creek Ridge Road – Lynhaven Drive – Greenhaven Drive to Elmsley Walmart.

Coverage Concept

Enlarge mapWhen designing for more coverage, we get:

  • Service to more people’s homes and jobs and expansion into more new areas on the outskirts of Greensboro.
  • Lifeline transit access for all who need it.
  • Lower frequency of service and longer wait times, which make service less appealing and therefore ridership will be lower.

In a Nutshell

The Coverage Concept includes:

  • Frequent service every 15 minutes on three major corridors.
  • New service every 30 minutes on four corridors.
  • New service every 60 minutes on four corridors.
  • Five new Demand Response Transit Zones that significantly expand coverage beyond areas served by fixed routes today.
