The Elm Street corridor from Bellemeade Street to Cone Boulevard will be affected by this project. New pavement markings for bicycle lanes will be added. There will be no road widening with this project; all changes to roadway markings will be within the existing footprint of the road.
The BiPed Plan Update recommends bicycle lanes on Elm Street as part of the City's strategy to install 75 miles of bicycle lanes in five years. This project will make Elm Street safer to bicycle on and encourage more bicycle usage on that street. Project maps show the proposed marking plan for Elm Street to include bicycle lanes. The marking plan is a draft that may change based on resident feedback, which can be provided through this survey. GDOT expects to implement this project when the road is resurfaced.
