The Greensboro Transit Agency is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in or denied the benefits of its services on the basis of race, color or national origin, or disability, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended. It is GTA's objective to:

  • Ensure that the level and quality of transportation service is provided without regard to race, color, or national origin
  • Promote the full and fair participation of all affected populations in transportation decision-making
  • Prevent the denial, reduction, or delay in benefits related to programs and activities that benefit minority populations or low-income populations
  • Ensure meaningful access to programs and activities by persons with limited English proficiency.

GTA is committed to a policy of non-discrimination in the conduct of its business, including adherence to Title VI responsibilities and the delivery of equitable and accessible transportation services. Any person who believes that he or she has been subjected to discrimination under Title VI on the basis of race, color or national origin may file a Title VI complaint with GTA.

The complaint should include the following information:

  • The complainant’s name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, etc.
  • Describe how, when, where, and why the complainant believes he or she was discriminated against. Include the location, names, and contact information of any witnesses.
  • Include any additional information the complainant considers relevant to the complaint.
  • The complainant’s signature and date.

Any such complaint must be in writing and submitted to the GTA Title VI Coordinator within 180 days following the date of the alleged discrimination. Greensboro Transit Agency (GTA) will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which prohibits discrimination in the provision of programs, services or activities to individuals with disabilities.  We invite any resident with a special need to contact our staff, so that a smooth inclusion may occur.

Title VI Compliance Public Review Notice

Greensboro Transit Agency asume el compromiso de asegurar que ninguna persona será excluida de participar o se le niegue los beneficios de sus servicios por motivos de raza, color u origen nacional, según lo dispuesto en el Título VI de la Ley de Derechos Civiles de 1964 y sus modificaciones. La finalidad de GTA es:

  • Asegurar que el nivel y la calidad del servicio de transporte se brinden sin distinción de raza, color u origen nacional; 
  • Promover la participación plena y justa de todas las poblaciones afectadas en la toma de decisiones de transporte; 
  • Evitar la negación, reducción o demora en los beneficios relacionados con los programas y actividades que benefician a las poblaciones minoritarias o de bajos ingresos;

     Asegurar el acceso significativo de personas con dominio limitado del inglés a los programas y actividades.

GTA está comprometida con una política de no discriminación en el desempeño de sus negocios, incluida la adhesión a las responsabilidades del Título VI y la prestación de servicios de transporte equitativos y accesibles. Toda persona que crea que ha sido objeto de discriminación según el Título VI por motivos de raza, color u origen nacional puede presentar una queja del Título VI ante GTA.

Reasonable Modification Requests

In accordance with 49 CFR Parts 27 and 37, Transportation for Individuals with Disabilities Reasonable Modifications Policies and Practices, the City of Greensboro/GTA is committed to ensuring a reliable, accessible experience for all customers. If, due to a disability, you are not able to fully utilize GTA programs and transportation services because of a policy or procedure that GTA has established, an individual may submit a request for a modification of the policy or procedure to the Central Contracting Specialist or designee. The requestor may complete a Reasonable Modification Request Form 10 business days in advance. The form is available online. The requester may submit the signed Request Form via fax, email, or US postal mail to Central Contracting Specialist, 223 W. Meadowview Road, Greensboro, NC 27406. The Greensboro Transit Agency will contact you and provide a written response to your request for a Reasonable Modification within seven days of its receipt. Please see the Reasonable Modification Guide for policies and procedures for reasonable modification request. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)

It is the policy of the City of Greensboro and the Greensboro Transit Agency (GTA) to ensure that disadvantaged business enterprises, as defined in 49 CFR Part 26 (as amended) have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts and subcontracts financed in whole or in part with federal, state, and city funds. As a requirement of its DBE program, the GTA agrees that the Agency, its sub-recipients and contractors shall abide by the requirements set forth in 49 CFR Part 26, as amended.

The NC DOT maintains a statewide directory, under its UCP program, identifying all firms eligible to participate as DBEs. The directory lists the firm’s name, address, phone number, date of the most recent certification, and the type of work the firm has been certified to perform as a DBE. All firms wishing to participate in GTA’s DBE program shall be requested to provide sufficient information to both the NC DOT UCP certification office and the City of Greensboro’s DBE Liaison or designee, to be recognized as a disadvantaged business enterprise.

The City of Greensboro and the Greensboro Transit Agency’s DBE goal for Federal transit funds for FFYs 2020-2022 is 4.91 percent. Four percent of the overall goal be achieved through race-conscious means and .91 percent of the overall goal will be achieved through race-neutral measures.  For further inquiries, please call 336-373-2634.
