PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 26
GTA is considering a Fixed Route Pass Consolidation Plan that may include replacing the 11-ride pass with the GO pass and establishing "user-friendly and name-sensitive" fare media for discount passes. Memorial Day Service
On Monday, May 28, GTA and SCAT will operate on a Saturday schedule with service from 6 am to 10 pm. GTA will offer hourly frequency. There will be no service on route 17.

Public Comments Requested for Long Range Transit Plan
The public comment period for the Mobility Greensboro 2040 long-range plan draft review is a valuable opportunity for riders and residents to help establish strategies and programs for increased ridership and efficiency. The public is invited to review the proposed plan and provide feed back on GTA's Get On Board 2040 site.
Bus Sign Replacement In Progress
GTA is currently replacing all 1,083 bus stop signs in the City of Greensboro (and Jamestown). The new, cleaner design is marked with appropriate route information and snow route designations. Also, new Transloc signs make using our live bus tracking service easier!
New Paratransit Buses In Operation
GTA has recently received five replacement SCAT buses that have been placed into operation. This is in addition to several replaced in 2017 featuring a new exterior design. SCAT provides door-to-door and curb-to-curb transportation services for persons with disabilities who cannot ride a standard GTA bus. Learn more on the SCAT page.

Temporary Detour in Affect for Route 8 - Updated 11/2/17
Due to construction around Cotswald Avenue, GTA Route 8 Battleground Avenue will operate on an updated detour until further notice. The current outbound route will turn right on Cotswald, left on Old Battleground, and left on Battleground inbound. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The City's Public Transportation Division and GTA continues with Mobility Greensboro 2040, an in-depth review of the GTA system, to establish long-term strategies and programs to make our bus system more efficient and increase rider usage. Statewide Public Transportation Strategic Plan Announced
The NC Department of Transportation's Public Transportation Division is developing a strategic plan to improve bus, rail and paratransit services in Greensboro and across the state. A series of community workshops are planned for your input.
GTA/HEAT Partners with NC by Train for Last Mile Program
A new bus-rail partnership gives passengers on the NC by Train/Amtrak Raleigh-to-Charlotte (Piedmont and Carolinian trains) rail corridor the option of a transit pass to help them reach their final destination through public transportation. To get a pass, rail passengers need to request it from conductors while on board and present it when boarding the transit partner’s bus. Use of the pass is only good on the passenger’s day of travel. GTA offers a free Discount Identification Card that gives holders half-price fares if they: are a veteran, senior citizen (60 years or older), are a student (6-18 years), receive Medicaid/Medicare, or have a disability.
