Depot Customer Service Office Power Outage Scheduled for 10/21
Due to construction work taking place at the Depot, the GTA Customer Service Office will be without power and closed on Sunday, October 21 from 9 am to 3 pm. Customer Service Representatives will still be available by phone during these hours at 336-335-6499. Thank you for your understanding and for riding GTA!
GTA Receives $1.9 Million Federal Grant for Battery-Electric Buses
GTA is proud to announce that it has been awarded $1.9 million for the purchase of new battery-electric buses. The Federal Transit Administration 2018 Low or No Emission Program Grant will provide funds to assist with the replacement of aging diesel buses. The rechargeable buses built by Proterra will support GTA's sustainability efforts of reducing emissions as well as fuel consumption and maintenance costs. Read the full media release.
11-Ride Pass Eliminated
GTA no longer sells the 11-ride transit pass. If you have an 11-ride pass, it can be used to pay GTA and HEAT fares through December 31. Riders who wish to continue to experience multi-ride savings are encouraged to use the GTA rechargeable GO pass which offers up to 20 percent savings. To help with the transition, during the month of August, you can purchase the GO pass without the normal $1 card fee.
GTA Invites You to #Plug 'N Ride
Greensboro Transit Authority has received our first new buses with on-board mobile device charging capabilities. USB sockets under the passenger seats will allow riders to recharge phones and tablets during their travels. Look for #PlugNRide buses on the streets right now. When they arrive at your bus stop, simply come on board, plug and ride!

The public comment period for the Mobility Greensboro 2040 long-range plan draft review is a valuable opportunity for riders and residents to help establish strategies and programs for increased ridership and efficiency. The public is invited to review the proposed plan and provide feed back on GTA's Get On Board 2040 site.

Temporary Detour in Affect for Route 8 - Updated 11/2/17
Due to construction around Cotswald Avenue, GTA Route 8 Battleground Avenue will operate on an updated detour until further notice. The current outbound route will turn right on Cotswald, left on Old Battleground, and left on Battleground inbound. We apologize for the inconvenience.

GTA/HEAT Partners with NC by Train for Last Mile Program
A new bus-rail partnership gives passengers on the NC by Train/Amtrak Raleigh-to-Charlotte (Piedmont and Carolinian trains) rail corridor the option of a transit pass to help them reach their final destination through public transportation. To get a pass, rail passengers need to request it from conductors while on board and present it when boarding the transit partner’s bus. Use of the pass is only good on the passenger’s day of travel. GTA offers a free Discount Identification Card that gives holders half-price fares if they: are a veteran, senior citizen (60 years or older), are a student (6-18 years), receive Medicaid/Medicare, or have a disability.
