GTA Wins National Marketing Award
On January 22, the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) named Greensboro Transit Authority as the First Place winner of the 2019 AdWheel Transit Marketing Awards. GTA competed against similarly-sized transit systems across the country in the category of Special Events, winning with the HEAT Tiny Bus Concert Series Event. GTA will be formally recognized at the APTA Annual Marketing and Communications Workshop February 26 in New Orleans.
Public Hearing Scheduled For March 26
The Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA) will hold a public hearing at the regularly scheduled board meeting on March 26 at 5:30 pm in the board room of GTA’s Administrative Offices, located at 223 West Meadowview Rd. The public hearing is to receive feedback on the City’s updated ADA Paratransit Plan, initially made effective January 26, 1992. Interested persons may also provide comments on the Plan at either of two public meetings held on Tuesday, March 12 at 6:30 pm and Wednesday, March 20 at 2 pm at the Central Library, 219 N. Church St. All meetings will be fully accessible and free of charge and language assistance are available upon request. Persons needing transportation may call 336-333-6589 up to seven days in advance of the hearing. Persons needing free language assistance may call 336-373-2182 at least three days prior to the hearing. The plan may be viewed at the Greensboro Transit Authority Administrative Offices located at 223 West Meadowview Rd., Greensboro, NC 27406, or at the Greensboro Central Library, located at 219 N. Church St. between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. Following the GTA board’s approval, the final approved document will be available for inspection beginning April 1 through June 3 at the same locations. Pilot Program Broadens Options For SCAT Travel
Users of Specialized Community Area Transportation (SCAT) will soon find a new way to travel in Greensboro. I-Ride by SCAT launches February 1 with private, on-demand transportation providing door-to-door service for one flat cost. Learn more on the I-Ride page.
GTA Welcomes New Transit Operations Contractor January 1
Effective New Year's Day, GTA's transit operations to include bus operators and mechanics will be provided by Keolis North America. We look forward to the new partnership to enhance transit services and related benefits for our riders and the general community.
GTA Invites You to #Plug 'N Ride
Greensboro Transit Authority has received our first new buses with on-board mobile device charging capabilities. USB sockets under the passenger seats will allow riders to recharge phones and tablets during their travels. Look for #PlugNRide buses on the streets right now. When they arrive at your bus stop, simply come on board, plug and ride!

The public comment period for the Mobility Greensboro 2040 long-range plan draft review is a valuable opportunity for riders and residents to help establish strategies and programs for increased ridership and efficiency. Temporary Detour in Affect for Route 8

GTA offers a free Discount Identification Card that gives holders half-price fares if they: are a veteran, senior citizen (60 years or older), are a student (6-18 years), receive Medicaid/Medicare, or have a disability.
