The Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) is a detailed list of transportation projects that have federal and/or state funding. The MTIP is a federally required planning document consistent with the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The MTIP shows the funding schedule for highway, public transportation, rail, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities in the MPO area. Projects in the MTIP include those developed through the MPO's ongoing Priority Needs Process. The projects reflect those identified in the MPO's Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).
