Project History

The City's Department of Transportation (GDOT) plans to redesign and widen Gate City Boulevard between Willow Road and Florida Street.

The Greensboro Urban Area MPO Transportation Advisory Committee directed federal funds for right-of-way and construction at its September 2021 meeting.

Recommended improvements include:

• Installing sidewalks and decorative crosswalks
• Adding pedestrian signals at signalized intersections
• Installing bike lanes 
• Installing curb and gutter, storm drainage and erosion control
