Home MenuS. Elm Street Innovation Corridor
Project Overview
This project is a joint effort by the City of Greensboro's Transportation, Information Technology and Planning Departments.
The City has identified South Elm Street between Gate City Boulevard and Burtner Street as an Innovation Corridor to spur entrepreneurial activity, create improved pedestrian space and encourage development. The project boundaries are shown on the map.
During the planning process, the City will consider installing features, such as:
- enhanced crosswalks
- sidewalk improvements
- on-street parking
- traffic calming features (examples: raised intersections, mini roundabout)
- landscaping
- bus shelters
- street lighting
These features are included in the two draft concepts.
