Do I need to resubmit my street if I did so last year?
Maybe. If you submitted your street within the last three years and were ruled ineligible because it did not meet the posted speed limit requirement, check to see if the posted speed limit on your street has been updated. If the posted speed limit was updated, then your street is eligible to be resubmitted to the program. However, if your street was deemed ineligible, for any other reason, or if it has been submitted within the last three years and received a scorecard, your street is not eligible to be resubmitted for this year’s program.
My street doesn’t qualify for the program because of the speed limit. What do I do now?
You may consider requesting to have the speed limit reduced on your street. You may also request electronic speed boards or anti-speeding yard signs. Email the staff to express your interest.
My application was marked as a “similar request.” What does that mean?
If more than one application was submitted along a given road, the projects will be considered as one application. You will be contacted after the project evaluation is complete.
How do I get the speed limit on my street reduced?
The City has a policy to consider reducing the speed limit on streets. To express interest in applying for this, contact the NTMP staff.
Is a project more likely to be successful if more than one resident submits an application?
No. All applicants will be weighed on their merits based on the established criteria. The number of submissions is not a criteria.
I am most worried about an intersection in my neighborhood. Should I submit an application just for that intersection?
To meet the guidelines for a project, a road must be at least 1,320-feet long. An application for one intersection would not qualify. You should consider submitting an application that includes a larger area. Such a project would look at the issues with the intersection of concern.
