What is GSO WaterWise?

GSO WaterWise is the new online customer portal for all City water users. To sign up for GSO WaterWise, you only need your account number, which is located at the top of your bill, and your zip code. In the portal, you will have the ability to make either one-time or recurring payments online, sign up for paperless billing, and track your water usage.

The new meter technology has a service life of 15-20 years. This prepares the City to take advantage of future technology for providing customer service and managing water resources.

GSO WaterWise Customer Portal Available
Track your water usage and receive important notices from Water Resources whenever you want, from wherever you are.

2021

GSO WaterWise Begins
The City begins transitioning to meters with advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), which provides for remote collection of water use data in real time. AMI meters also allow a utility to quickly identify excessive water use that could be the result of leaks.

Feasibility Study
Research recommends moving to new technology vs. replacing failing devices with similar ones.

2018 

End-of-Life Issues
AMR devices are having communications issues and need to be replaced.

Automated Meter Reading (AMR)
The City transitions from manual water meter reading to drive-by AMR devices.
