Overview

The Mitchell Advanced Treatment Emerging Contaminants Project and the Townsend Advanced Treatment Facility Project will address emerging contaminants, such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAs). These projects will install granular activated carbon (GAC) contactors to help the City meet future PFAs regulatory requirements.

The Water Resources Department anticipates the water treatment improvements will go online in time to meet the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) National Primary Drinking Water Regulation (NPDWR) enforceable levels, called maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) requirements.

Department staff thanks customers for their patience as they strive to provide continued exceptional water quality and customer service.
