2016 Bond TrackerIn October 2016, Greensboro voters approved the City to borrow up to $28 million for transportation projects. Bond funds will be used to buy, build, extend, widen repave and improve streets, sidewalks and add other transportation infrastructure.

Bond Projects:

  • Sidewalks, Intersections and Transit: $10,000,000
    •  GTA Bus Replacement (30): $4,500,000
      •  Local match for regular bus replacement with all electric vehicles
    • Depot Renovations: $300,000
      •  Local match for J. Douglas Galyon Depot renovations
    • Bus Shelters: $200,000
      •  Local match for bus shelters
    • Pedestrian/Bicycle Enhancements and Intersection Improvements: $5,000,000
      •  Improvements to various congested intersections and/or pedestrian/bicycles facility improvements such as crossing and bike lanes
  • Street Resurfacing: $18,000,000
    • Increased spending previous two fiscal years. Anticipate issuing between $2,000,000 to 4,000,000 in 2018
