NC Folk Festival
2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the NC Folk Festival in downtown Greensboro. This free, family-friendly event along Church St., from the Greensboro Cultural District to the Downtown Depot, features four entertainment stages, more than 40 food vendors, 50 merchandise vendors, and sponsor activations. For the second year, the City and NCFF will host a Public Service Appreciation Night Friday, Sept. 12, at the Greensboro History Museum – Richardson Park for City and County employees, teachers, and first responders.
The City provides in-kind support valued at approximately $140,000, including public safety, transportation, infrastructure, and outreach to downtown businesses and residents.
Anticipated attendance: 80,000 to 100,000 over the three-day weekend
Dates and times: Friday, Sept. 12, 5 pm to 10 pm; Saturday, Sept. 13, 12 pm to 10 pm; Sunday, Sept. 14, 12 pm to 7 pm

GSO Pride Festival
The Greensboro Pride Festival, the annual headlining event for IMPAQT GSO, a 100 percent volunteer-operated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has grown over the past few years, requiring a larger footprint in the Greensboro Cultural District. The one-day festival features two entertainment stages, more than 30 food vendors, and 250 merchandise and partner vendors. The City supports the event with public safety planning and monitoring, as well as operational functions.
Date and time: Saturday, Sept. 20, 11 am to 6 pm
Anticipated attendance: 70,000

Run for the Greenway
The 16th Annual Downtown Greenway Run and Block Party will be held in 2025 as the main fundraiser supporting the Downtown Greenway. The event includes a 1-mile run and a 5k route along the newly paved Western Branch. Activities are family- and pet-friendly, and registered participants receive custom t-shirts, snacks, and drinks from Joymongers Brewing.
The Parks and Recreation Department produces and manages the event, with additional City departments providing public safety and traffic support.
